Vicenta Lopez

Vicenta Sanchez Lopez, age 100, of Sonora Texas passed away peacefully on Sunday March 14, 2021. Vicenta was a graduate of Sonora High School and went on to study business. She was a prominent business woman who owned The Commercial Restaurant with her husband, Santos Lopez, which was a Sonora hotspot in its day. Memorabilia of the Commercial can still be seen at the Sonora History Museum. Vicentia was an active member of her church, acting as a Eucuristic Minister and volunteer for many years. Vicenta was also active in the cancer society as she had been a cancer survivor. Vicenta was preceded in death by her parents Enrique Sanchez and Juanita Sanchez, her husband Santos Lopes and beloved son Jose Eliel Lopez. Vicenta was so proud of her son, Jose, who did wonderful work to help kids with Head Start of Texas. Vicenta was called Shenta, Nana and Mom by her closest family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Diana Lopez Orren, her son and daughter-in-law, Lemuel & Gloria Lopez. Grandchildren - Annie & Jon Christenson, Jackie Orren-Castellanos, Beth Adame, and Enrique &Yesenia Lopez. Great Grandchildren - Jack, Max, Diego, Monte, Dalylah, Braxton and Aurora. Services will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church, Sonora TX on Thursday, March 19, 2021 at 10:00am. COVID restrictions and masks are required.
