Mr. Royce Wade Miears, 68, died Sunday, January 28, 2018, at his home in Granbury, Texas, surrounded by family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 11:00a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Sonora Cemetery, directed by Love Funeral Home.             Born October 28, 1949, in San Angelo to Freeman and Irene Hyde Miears who predeceased him.  Mr. Miears had been a resident of Sutton County for nearly 60 years of his life. On May 15, 1980, he married Gloria J. Bisauta in Sonora.             Mr. Miears owned and operated the Branding Iron Smokehouse for 15 years after working for his father there for a number of years. Shortly after selling the smokehouse he started his own business in the oil and gas industry, Miears Lease Service. He was also a part of the first state championship football team in Sonora, Texas in 1966.             He is survived by his wife, Gloria Miears of Granbury; one son, Bryce J. Matthews of San Antonio; one granddaughter, Danielle Jenkins and husband Michael Jenkins of Weatherford (formerly Sonora), one sister and brother-in-law, George and Elaine Roberson of Trophy Club. and a host of friends. Vivian Doris Miears, a sister, predeceased him.             Pallbearers will be: Tim Thorp, Mike Redman, Bud Smith, T.J. Thorp, Will Trainer, Jake Trainer, Kelly Morrow, and Bruce Kerbow. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Earl Johnson, Will Crittendon, and Reed Jennings.             The family requests that memorials be given to any cancer organization of choice.
