Mary Helen Wingo

Sonora- Mary Helen Wingo (Sanchez) Mary Helen Wingo, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023, at the age of 70. She was born on July 29, 1952, in Melvin, Texas, to Jose and Maria Sanchez. Mary grew up and began her family in Sonora, Texas. She was a proud mother of 6 children and grandmother to 14 grandchildren. Mary was an avid reader, enjoyed music, exploring new destinations, and loved dancing. Mary found immense happiness in life's simple pleasures, however, her truest and most profound delight came from the moments shared with her children and grandchildren. Mary is survived by her children, Esmeralda Castilleja, Elva Hulsey, Nick Castilleja and wife Elsa Castilleja, Ysenia Castilleja, and her husband Rohan Dhaliwal, Miranda Castilleja, Laura Castilleja, and her husband Devron Limerick, and grandchildren.Mary never met a stranger and not only took care of her many children and grandchildren but embraced and loved their many friends. Mary will be remembered for her strength and perseverance, her dedication as a mother, and the bright light of her spirit that illuminated every room she entered. She is and will forever be truly missed. Public Visitation will be held Friday, July 7, 2023 at Love Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at The Brushy Top Cowboy Church. Interment will follow in Sonora Cemetery.
