Mario G. Duran

Mario G Duran, age 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening November 13, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Love Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Sonora Cemetery. He was born on April 23, 1930 in Sonora, Texas to Esequiel and Georgina Duran. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Lala Duran and two brothers Robert Beto Duran and Esequiel Duran.Mario started his career in the water well drilling business in 1953 when he went to work for the Wesley C. Young Drilling Company. Some twenty years later he started his own water well drilling business and drilled many wells throughout West Texas, always taking pride in the work he left behind.Mario is survived by daughter Priscilla Gutierrez, sons Mario Duran, Jr. and Ezekiel Duran wife Lisa and three grandchildren Jason Gutierrez and wife Maura, Amy Nicole Hernandez and husband Billy, and Jordan Matthew Duran, and five great grandchildren.Mario adored his grandchildren and his great grandchildren even more. They will remember him for his love, generosity, and kindness.
