Maria M Santos

On June 30, 2025, Maria M. Santos, loving sister, aunt and friend to many, went to live with the Lord at the age of 82.

Mary was born on June 15, 1943 in Sonora, Texas, to Rodrigo and Victoria M. Santos. After graduating high school, Mary went on to continue her studies. She was a career-long teacher’s aide for ESL and special education students, as well as having served as the school librarian for Sonora Independent School District.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Rodrigo and Victoria, her sisters Josephina and Vicky and by her brother Tomas. She is survived by her brother Rodrigo Santos and sisters Estella Lumbreras and Rosa Gutierrez (Willie). She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews, Elsa Lumbreras, Rebecca Lumbreras, Ricardo Lumbreras, William Gutierrez (Julie), Sarah Gutierrez and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Oliva Garmon (Ryan), Emily Banda, James Hogeda, McKenna Garmon, Eli Gaston, Lilly Gutierrez, Aubree Garmon, Noel Gutierrez, and Karsyn Garmon. She had the most caring and compassionate loving heart for her family and her faith, and her absence has left a void in all that knew her.

Funeral arrangements done by Love Funeral Home. Viewing will be at Love Funeral Home on June 30th and July 1st, 2025, from 9am to 9 pm. Funeral services will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church on July 2, 2025 at 10am with burial to follow at the Sonora Cemetery. Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
