Judy Martin

Judy Martin, 81, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023, in the Schleicher County Nursing Home. Judy was born February 5, 1942, in Clarksville, Texas to Harold and Euna Greenwood. Judy grew up in Midland, Texas and graduated from Midland High School. She married Max Martin on June 4, 1960. They lived in Odessa, Texas until moving to Sonora, Texas in 1975. Judy served as Municipal Court Judge in Sonora for several years. After Max’s passing, she moved to Wimberley, Texas where she made many close friends. Judy was active in the Wimberley United Methodist Church congregation, where she served as a bookkeeper for many years. She then moved to Montgomery, Texas for a short while before returning to Sonora. Judy is survived by her sons, David Martin and wife Shauna of Iola and Doug Martin and wife Donna of Atlanta. She is also survived by granddaughter Laura Hernandez and husband Reggie and grandsons Clay Martin, Rhett Martin, and great grandson Max Hernandez. A small graveside gathering will be held at a later date. Her family would like to extend our appreciation to Hunter Hohensee of Alvin F. Johnson Hospice and Staci Chatham of Schleicher County Nursing Home for their care and compassion during Judy’s short stay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society.
