Jimmy Harris (87) passed this life to be with his Lord and Savior on October 30, 2016 after a short illness. He was a long time resident of Sonora and for the last 20 years lived with his wife at Rough Canyon on Lake Amistad. He was born to Jeff and Emma Harris on July 22, 1929.
For many years Jimmy provided windmill installation and repair services for ranchers in Sutton and surrounding counties. Jimmy sold his water well business and started an independent pumping business that he operated until his retirement.
Jimmy was married to Jackie N. Pfiester, of San Angelo, for 57 years. They enjoyed many loving times together; providing for four children, traveling in their RV across the country on vacation, and fishing in the Llano River and at Lake Amistad.
Jimmy is survived by his wife Jackie, daughter Julie Arrington and husband Joe of Centerpoint TX, sons Bradley Harris and his wife Lisa of Kingfisher OK, Glen Harris and his wife Donna of Tyler TX, Mark Milliken and his wife Sheryl of Richmond TX; and 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all.
A Memorial service is scheduled for November 11 at 11 AM at the Church of Christ in Sonora. A luncheon will follow for family and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Jimmy’s memory to The Tyler Milliken Foundation (www.tylermilliknefoundation.org), West Texas Boys Ranch or local charity of your choosing.
