Gerard J. "Jerry" Bois

Gerard J. Bois, 74, of Sonora, TX passed away on April 13th, 2022. Gerard “Jerry” was born on December 1st, 1947 to Gerard and Lois Bois in Portland, ME. After graduating High School he joined the United States Army where he proudly served his country with terms in Vietnam and in Korea. Jerry moved from Maine to Sonora where he started his career in the oil field and transitioned to becoming a Mechanic where he enjoyed working on cars and building race cars that he and friends would Drag race. In later years he became a Sutton County Veterans Officer where he dedicated his time helping other Veterans in a variety of ways. He loved the outdoors spending time hunting and also building and repairing guns for his friends. Jerry was proceeded in death by his wife Sharon Kemp, parents Gerard and Lois Bois, Brother Victor Bois, and Sister Margurerite Haynes. Jerry is survived by his brother Dana Pellitier, his step children Brittany Snyder and David Kemp, as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Loves Funeral Home in Sonora, TX on Tuesday April 19th. Grave site services will be held on Wednesday, April 20th at 10 am at the Sonora Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the VFW in Jerry’s name.
