Evangelina Esquivel

Sonora- Evangelina “Eva” Esquivel, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, with her family at her side. She was born on July 3, 1932, in Guerrero, Coahuila Mexico to Gertudes and Esequiel Guzman. In November of 1958 she married Jose Angel Esquivel. In August of 1972 Jose passed away and she was left to take care of her four young children on her own. Eva’s greatest enjoyment in her life were her grandchildren and later in life she got to enjoy her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed working in her yard and tending to all her plants and flowers. She is survived by her daughters and their spouses; Lupe Duran and Richard Martinez, Sue and Mike Moore all of Sonora, Berta and Sylvester Galvan of Midland, and her son Jose Angel Esquivel, Jr. of Sonora. Grandchildren; Serena Duran, Jason and wife Kayli Moore, Scottie and wife Mikinzie Moore, Micaela Moore, Keeley and husband Michael Mungia, Alex Galvan, Scott and Mallory Martinez and Ricky Martinez. Great-grandchildren; Bella Wuertenburg, Holden Moore, Sterling and Channing McGee and Beaux Martinez. Brother; Jesus Guzman, special nieces; Irma Negrete and Sara Lopez, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jose Angel Esquivel, son-in-law’s Candido Duran, Jr. and Juan Castillo, sister Rafaela Chisum and brothers Antonio Flores, Bruno Flores, Alejandro Guzman, and Carlos Guzman. Viewing will start at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Love Funeral Home, Rosary will start at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with Father Felix officiating. Interment will follow in Sonora Cemetery under the direction of Love Funeral Home. The family appreciates the care given to her by the staff at Schleicher County Medical Center and Hunter Hohensee with Alvin F Johnson Home Health and Hospice, Diana Arteaga, PA, and Dr. Charles Pajestka.
