Edward Gordon “Googaddy” Robinson, 78, of Eldorado, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, in San Angelo, surrounded by his family.
Edward was born on December 21, 1946, in Ballinger, Texas, to Shep and Gertrude Robinson. He spent his life doing what he loved — working with his hands and fixing just about anything that needed it. If something was broken, you could bet he’d find a way to make it run again. He was a mechanic by trade, but truly, he was the kind of man who could fix more than machines — he fixed problems, lifted spirits, and helped anyone who needed him.
Edward had a heart bigger than Texas. He was caring, selfless, and always the first to lend a hand. Family was everything to him, and he loved nothing more than spending time with the people who meant the most.
He was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, Shep and Gertrude Robinson; his beloved wife, Betty Robinson; and his daughter, Christy Robinson Arendt.
He leaves behind a loving family who will carry his memory forever — sons Gary Robinson, and James Robinson and wife Tonya; son-in-law Cody Arendt; grandchildren Justin and wife Kayla Robinson, Kendall Robinson, Katelyn Robinson, Clayton Arendt, Colton Arendt, and Cassidy Arendt; great-grandson Lathen Robinson; and special family members Tommie Riojas and Ryan Rutherford.
Visitation will be held 10am-7pm Thursday, October 23rd at Loves Funeral Home in Eldorado Tx, and funeral services will be Friday, October 24th, at 1:00 p.m. at Brushy Top Cowboy Church.
The family requests memorials be made to the Christy Robinson Arendt Memorial Scholarship- c/o Barbara Arendt P.O. Box 234, Eldorado, Tx. 76936
