Derrel Steve (Steve'O) Alley

Derrel Steve Alley (Steve'O), age 56 died suddenly while on a business trip to Amarillo, Tx. Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 2:00p.m. in Sonora Cemetery. Steve, a resident of Houston, Tx. was born to Derrel (Warty) Alley and Sue Harper Taylor in Kerrville, Tx. on April 3, 1961. While Steve was growing up he lived in many places- Starkville, Miss., McAllen, Tx., Kerrville, Tx. , New Orleans, La. , Gainesville, Fl. , and Stillwater, Ok. After graduating from Sonora High School, he attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Steve then went back to Sonora and began his long career in the oil and gas business. He went to work for Houston Natural Gas, Enron, Aspen Pipeline, and was currently employed by Blue Fish Pipeline in Houston. Steve traveled all over the world and worked in many countries, including Venezuela, Peru, Chile, and Dubai. Steve loved playing golf, hunting, and working on the ranch, and spending time with his friends. Steve is survived by his brother John Scott Alley of Round Rock, Tx. , and a sister Suzanne Whitworth of Sonora, Tx., nieces Lindsey Collins of Lubbock, and Kaitlyn Weimers of San Angelo. He is preceded in death by his parent Warty Alley and Sue Taylor, step-dad Roy Lynn Taylor, a special couisin Robert Alley of Midland, and a special niece Alyssa Collins of Sonora. Steve never met a stranger and always had a smile and a twinkle in his blue eyes for everyone he met. A luncheon with family will be at 12:00p.m. Saturday at the St. John's Episcopal Parish Hall.
