Charles Richard Edmiston

Charles Richard Edmiston, age 69, of Anchorage Alaska, passed away on December 7, 2022 in Weatherford, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on August 10, 1953 in Eldorado, TX to William P. and Carolyn Edmiston. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Charles moved up to Alaska for work in 1979 as an estimator for engineering projects on the Alyeska Pipeline, originally with Arco, before retiring from BP in 2018. He loved when friends and family came to visit to show them all his favorite things about living in Alaska, especially the fishing and always had the greatest fish stories to tell. He caught many fish over the years. He loved smoking and canning the salmon, which were sent in care packages to family and friends, usually at Christmas time. He also had many adventures included fly-fishing for trout and deep-sea fishing for halibut. Charles, or Charlie to his friends, was loved by all who met him with his upbeat outlook and compassionate character, he was a great friend and brother. Charles is survived by his brothers Michael Edmiston and wife Sandra of Weatherford, and Steve Edmiston of Dallas along with his sister Kay Smith of Coppell. He is also survived by nephews Devin Edmiston and wife Shawna of Plano, Ryan Edmiston of Midland, and niece Courtney Edmiston of Weatherford along with great-nephew Dmitri Edmiston. Charles was preceded in death by his wife JoAnne Lovitz Edmiston and his parents. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society, or another charity of your choice. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Eldorado Cemetery.
